Books! With enthusiasm!
When I was younger, I was never much of a reader. I hated it with a burning passion, actually. My school never gave me anything interesting, only textbook assignments and worksheets with words on them. I found books the epitome of boring. Until, of course, I tried my own hand at picking out the books I was reading. I started asking my teacher for different genres, testing where my passion lay. I've gone through historical fictions, mysteries, thrillers, biographies, etc., but nothing really incited love from me. I finally ended up finding a little something called science fiction/fantasy, when I started reading my favorite series of all time, and it changed my life forever.
This series has affected me incredibly. As a person, as a reader, everything. I will always be thankful for my favorite character ever, Percy Jackson, for making me realize that books are more than a stapled set of papers.
I only read this book last year but I love it to absolute pieces. It's my favorite standalone novel ever! It's difficult to get through, but it's so worth it.
An original story in a sci-fi setting with an interesting, nail-biting survival storyline? Who thought such a thing existed?
An 18th century travel book with bisexual representation and an adorable love story definitely lands itself as one of my favorites.
Overrated, in my humble opinion, but still a great example of a fantastical concept done well. (Draco Malfoy deserved a redemption arc.)
