The Goat
As the game of Basketball started to evolve more and more, there was always a convo that was always spoken and is still spoken to this day. Who is the best player to ever play Basketball (other wise know as the goat). Now if you don't know what goat stands for, it means Greatest Of All Time. There's been some names tossed around such as, Michael Jordan, Bill Russel, Wilt Chamberlin, Lebron James,Etc. But in My opinion I think the greatest player to ever touch a basketball , is the Black Mamba Himself, Kobe Bryant.
Kobe played basketball ever since he was a little boy. He lived in Italy during his childhood but was born in Philadelphia in 1978. When Kobe returned to america in 1991, Kobe joined The Lower Merion High School where he was a dominant player and led his school to the State Championships four years in a row. His senior year he averaged 30.8 pts, 12 rebounds , 6.5 assists, 4 steals and 3.8 blocks. After highschool Kobe decided to take this talent striaght to the NBA when it was allowed, now you have to be 19 or do one year in college before eligible for the draft. Byrant was drafted to the hornets with the 13th pick but was traded to tha lakers where he would stay with them all of his 20 season, that was probably one of the dumbest trades the Hornets has ever done and is also one of the biggest what if in NBA history if they had not traded him.
Kobe made his debut in the NBA on November 3,1996. He started only 6 games but in his rookie year he averaged 7.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He also won the NBA dunk contest and was considered the youngest to ever win. Throughout the years he improved more and more and achieving so much. He won 5 rings in his whole NBA Career (3 with Shaq and 2 with Pau Gasol),33,570 points, third all time in NBA History, Fifteen All NBA selections, Four All Star MVPs, Two Finals MVPs, and the 2007 to 08 season Mvp where he averaged 28 points. And the last two seasons before Kobe Averaged 35 and 31 points. My Favorite Moment of Kobe's Legacy was his 81 points in one game on yes you have read that right 81 POINTS in a game against the Toronto Raptors. I'm not gonna lie, I feel so bad for for Matt Bonner, he's the player who guarded kobe on his 81 points. I would be embarassed if I ever allowed anyone to drop 81 points on my head in one game, I would retire.
Kobe has retired after 20 seasons with the Lakers he averged 17.6 points, 4.7 assists, and 5.2 rebounds. At his last game Kobe left with style and finished the game with 60 points and perviously Shaq asked him to drop 50 this shows how dominiant Kobe still was during his final season. This legacy of Kobe is definitely one of a kind and for these reasons I believe Kobe is the greatest player of all time.
