Here are some facts on all diffrent types of sports.

Until 1991, soccer was an illegal sport in Mississippi. In 1998 a lightning bolt killed an entire team during a soccer game,the 11 players of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nobody on the opposite team was hurt.

In 1906 president Theodore Roosevelt made major changes to football, and introduced the forward pass. He felt the rules needed changing because of the number of athlete's deaths in the game. The 1967 NFL championship game was the coldest in history with a wind chill of -48 degrees. It has become known as the ‘Ice Bowl'. Most male basketball players are at least six feet, three inches tall, and have an average weight of 222 pounds. Guards are usually the shortest players. For nine years, starting in 1967, slam dunks were illegal. Nintendo owns the Seattle Mariners. Some players pee on their hands to improve their grip, rather than wear gloves. The first ‘officially' recorded game in U.S. history took place between the Knickerbockers and New York Nine in 1846.
